Kondotty Nercha

The 500-year-old Pazhayangadi mosque at Kondotty, about 18 km from Manjeri, is a well-known centre of worship. Kondotty Nercha (nercha means offering), which falls in the month of March / April is the illustrious festival of this mosque. The festival is conducted in memory of the Muslim saint known as Kondotty Thangal. This weeklong festival is celebrated in grand scale with huge religious procession, trade fair and arrangements for entertainment. Thousands of people participate in this festival making it a cultural event.
